A shout out to all my 'peeps...
Tony was playing in his room and singing his favorite tune (a mixture of the ABC's and "Twinkle, Twinkle" he has composed for himself) while moving his Thomas trains from place to place. I decided to spy on him, and of course, get him to talk to me a little on camera. You can see him being alternately sweet and cute, then switching to ornery mode when he sees me. When we showed him the whole thing, he gave us his other catch-phrase, "Ooh! Look at that!"
Our day is typically laced with a few time outs for things like throwing trains or running off with the remote (batteries in his mouth of course so he can scare us silly). He sits in the corner and cries, "Listen to Mommy," to try to get out a little sooner. I thought this was true contrition until I let him out of time out early, and was greeted with the biggest smile and cat-that-ate-the-canary grin you've ever seen. So, now Mommy is less of a sucker.
We also lost our minds a little last night and let Tony hold his sister for a brief moment. He actually did pretty well and was very still and gentle (it helps that he was pinned in by the Boppy pillow).
