Jumpin' Tony

Because Tony has spent so much time standing on our laps, and because we are a little weary from propping the little guy up all of the time, we decided to invest in a Jumperoo. Thanks to the lovely folks at Target, we now have a place for Tony to bounce the day away. In the first picture we are not quite sure what he is staring at, because the only things in that direction are a shaded window and the side of the t.v. The second picture is Tony laughing at us laughing at him (always a good time). On the other side of Tony you can see the pile-up of various things which have been brought into the house to amuse our little man and give us some hands-free time.
We have a little less than three weeks of summer left with this little guy before he enters the world of daycare and Mommy re-enters the work force (sigh). This is a painful but very neccessary fact of life. Lucky for us, our church has an excellent and very affordable daycare, which takes a large amount of the stress out of the decision of where to send him and all of those questions about the standard of care. We have walked by the daycare rooms many, many times and seen first hand that we are sending Tony to a friendly, clean, and safe place. The only down side to the place is that I don't remember ever seeing a Jumperoo.

Feliz CumpleaƱos, Tocayo!

Sunday was Grandpa Tony's birthday, so we celebrated at Bobby's aunt and uncle's house, which coincidentally has a new swimming pool. Here is Tony with his namesake (someone who shares your name in Spanish slang is "tocayo," which is what Grandpa Tony lovingly calls our little Tonito). Tony is sporting his signature repair-man belly.
Here's another great shot of Tony and his Daddy hangin' out by the pool. Tony looks more serious here as he watches his cousins splashing away in the pool.

clownin' around with Grandma

It has been way too long since we posted any Tony pictures. Tony and I had to go out of town for a week. On July 9th our family lost Charlie, my cousin Kathy's husband. This was a sad time for our family, but, fortunately, my aunts got to pass the little guy around quite a bit.

Just before Mom and I left the Valley, we put Tony in with his stuffed animals and snapped a few pictures.

Tony's Baptism

Yesterday was a large one at the Garcia household. Not only did I celebrate my 30th birthday, but we baptised Antonio, with many of our friends and family there to witness. Bobby's family was all there, and so were my mother and Tony's godparents, Dax and Laura. They got him the cutest christening outfit, complete with socks, shoes, a bib, and bonnet to match!

Here are Dax, Laura, a sleeping Tony, Dr. Jenna Heart, me, and Bobby after the worship service.
Laura and a STILL sleeping Tony. We just kept passing him around and he never woke up!
The picture below is of Dax at lunch, feeding the baby while Bobby and I enjoy La Mexicana, our favorite resturaunt.

Happy Apple

First, let me apologize for our bad blogging habits as of late. Between my babysitting, keeping up (or trying to keep up) with housekeeping, and, of course, the demands of our little Tony, blogging has taken a back seat. We went to Austin for 4th of July, but somehow ended up in Galveston (go figure). No matter where we went we maneaged to get rain, but we had a great time none the less. While at my mom's house, I pulled out good ol' Happy Apple, which was a favorite toy of both Jeanne and me, and is now being enjoyed by Tony as well. It's funny how something as simple as a smiley-faced apple with a little bell inside can be so entertaining. It goes to show that the classics never go out of style.

Here's yours truly with the same little Happy Apple. What a cute kid, huh?
